4 Sad Story Behind the Legend of IT

There are always people behind the various technologies in the world of Information Technology (IT). Man behind the technology is often hailed like a hero, because of what they do may have changed the direction of development of the world at large.


As the story of the heroes, not everything ends with a 'happy ever after'. Here is the story of four IT leaders are quite legendary but has the sad side as gathered from various sources, on Monday (30/11/2009):

Alan Turing
Alan Turing
Turing, Alan Mathison Turing full name, is a crypto expert analysis and in the field of computer scientists from the UK who has a major role in the development of the computer world. Turing heyday was during World War II, when he headed the unit even had a special duty to analyze and decode the passwords Germany.

Achievement: Name Turing became a legend through the concept called Turing Machine. The concept of the algorithm and komputansi is even, according to Time magazine, is the basis of all computers in the world. Turing became immortal through the Turing Test, a test to prove whether a computer system capable of 'thinking' computers by comparing the answers with human answers a series of questions.

Charles Babbage is a British nobleman who lived in the 19th century. He is an expert in the fields of mathematics, engineering mechanics and philosophy. Babbage also known as an inventor.

Achievement: Babbage arguably the first person that spawned the concept of a programmable computer. Not only concepts, Babbage was trying to make machines that could prove the concept say. Incredible, machine made with restrictions technical capabilities in the 19th century it was supposed to be a forerunner of the computer.

Tragedy: Unfortunately, Babbage was never able to finish the engine. It is said that about Babbage's ambitions exceed its own merits machine. Not to mention the personal Babbage told him tends to go up and down constantly switch from one project to another.


Dani Bunten
Dani Bunten
Dani Bunten (Danielle Bunten Berry / Daniel Paul Bunten) is a game designer who debuted in the 1980's. His name is often associated with games legend Sid Meier because supposedly Dani had a chance to work on Civilization game that catapulted the name Meier.

Achievement: Dani Bunten successful passing game called MULE in the range of the 1980s. This game is one of the earliest successful multiplayer games and many games referenced next. Bunten other game that is quite famous is The Seven Cities of Gold.

Tragedy: After three failed in her marriage as a man, Bunten eventually chose to live as a woman. In fact he did a sex change, which he later regretted. Bunten died in 1998 after being diagnosed with lung cancer, he has not had time to finish the game MULE internet version.


Joybubbles
Joybubbles
Joybubbles, born with the name Joe Engressia, was a pioneer in the world of hacking. He was born as a blind and has the ability to listen and voice tone perfectly.

Achievement: Joybubbles a pioneer phreaking, aka breaking into the telephone network to make phone calls without paying. When he was able to do it with whistle a tone in the receiver. Joe capability followed by Captain Crunch (Jon Draper) using a reward whistle cereal products.

Tragedy: Legend Joybubbles accompanied by a grim story with a childhood that was unhappy and diwanai torture. Joe overcome this trauma by making the Church of Eternal Childhood, changed his name legally to Joybubbles and declared her age as 5 years to forever. The final days of his life were spent in a small apartment without a lamp filled with phone device, stuffed animals, old tape and plastic toys.
